London - Belgravia

note: one of our favorite neighborhoods in London!

NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES

Situated mostly within the City of Westminster, west of Buckingham Palace and south of Hyde Park, Belgravia is home to a high concentration of international embassies and diplomatic missions. Known for its grand white stucco architecture, garden squares, upscale boutiques and cafés.

WHERE WE STAYED

The Hari, a stylish luxury hotel in the heart of Belgravia set between Chelsea, Kensington and Knightsbridge, the hotel is just a short walk from many of London’s most iconic attractions, including Harrods, Hyde Park and Buckingham Palace. We opted for a King Premium Room, decorated with a king-size bed, bespoke wooden furniture, plush upholstery, bold white Arabescato marble, and a cozy window banquette seating area.

WHERE WE ATE & DRANK

Il Pampero at The Hari, a AA Rosette-awarded Italian restaurant in Belgravia, part of The Hari London. Executive Chef Marco Quarta leads a kitchen known for cacio e pepe served in a pecorino wheel and tableside tiramisu. Guests can enjoy traditional flavour combinations from seasonal changing menus, complemented with an impressive wine list and selection of inventive cocktails. note: we only dined here for breakfast

Chestnut Bakery, a neighborhood bakery and cafe featuring housemade breads, sweet pastries, savory pastries, small plates, flatbreads baked in a clay oven, egg dishes, sandwiches and desserts.

The Alfred Tennyson, a gastropub serving a seasonal modern British & European menu. Open for lunch & dinner every day, as well as for a traditional Sunday Roast.

THINGS TO DO

Stroll down flower-lined Elizabeth Street popping in/out of local boutiques, home goods stores ,and independent cafés. Next, stop to have afternoon tea at The Goring Hotel, a favorite among the royal family. Spend the afternoon at Eccleston Yards, a courtyard surrounded by boutiques, restaurants, a wine bar, bakery, wellness/workout facilities, a pottery studio, and more. Weather depending, they hold movies in the square as well as show football matches. Another favorite street to wander down is Motcomb, a pedestrianized street filled with independent boutiques and buzzy restaurants including Pantechnicon, a five-story Nordic and Japanese lifestyle hub. If you happen to be in Belgravia on a Saturday, there is a Farmers Market at Orange Square within the Pimlico Road Markets that is open every day of the week.
