London - Notting Hill
NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES
Vibrant, trendy, colorful and quaint, Notting Hill is home to pastel architecture, antique shops, upscale boutiques, high end restaurants, neighborhood cafes, and the famous Portobello Road market.
WHERE WE STAYED
The Lost Poet is independent and unique, offering four beautifully curated rooms within a glorious Victorian townhouse. Located in the heart of the bright and beautiful Notting Hill on Portobello Road offering everything you need for a quintessential London stay. The beautifully renovated rooms combine modern conveniences with a heritage feel. Each room has its own distinctive character which draws inspiration from the colour and playful curiosity of Portobello Road. The rooms are resplendent, with modern art, bold wallpapers, bespoke furniture, antique trinkets and reclaimed wood panelling from old school science labs.
For our stay, we opted for The Suite, a lower level generous 20sqm space with an outdoor patio and a super king bed (or twin). Enhanced with muted earthy tones, dark wood parquet flooring. Discover the quirky bathroom complete with brass fittings and opulent white tiling. The Suite provides plenty of natural light flooding in from the strategically placed lightwells and is a room that exudes comfort. A cosy nook panelled with reclaimed wood offers a comforting space to work, eat or simply relax.
House amenities include a concierge from 9am - 5pm daily, 24 hour emergency phone support, online check-in, keyless entry and complimentary breakfast. Every morning we awoke to a canvas bag hung on our door with fresh squeezed orange juice, chia seed yogurt and fresh pastries from Yotam Ottolenghi, which we enjoyed on our patio, it was such a treat!
WHERE WE ATE & DRANK
The Sun in Splendour, a classic british pub specializing in fish and chips, sunday roast and a crisp cold pint.
Gold, a neighborhood restaurant specializing in small plates led by seasonality and simplicity and cooked in a wood burning oven. Cocktails feature seasonal ingredients and their wine list focuses on low-intervention, organic, biodynamic and natural wines.
Franklin’s Wine Bar, a lovely wine bar and bottle shop in the heart of Notting Hill. Franklin’s is the perfect stop for a glass (or bottle) of wine, charcuterie and a relaxing afternoon.
