London - Fitzrovia

NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES

Located in north of Soho and east of Marylebone, Fitzrovia is a quieter and more bohemian neighborhood featuring Georgian architecture, Fitzroy Square, galleries, bistros, cafes, and old school pubs.

WHERE WE STAYED

The London EDITION, a five-star, luxury boutique hotel located in the Fitzrovia neighborhood in central London. Originally built in 1835 as five separate Georgian townhomes, The London EDITION opened in 2013 as a partnership between Ian Schrager (co-founder/owner of Studio 54) and Marriott hotels. The lobby is grand, opulent, and elegant while the rooms are yacht inspired with wood paneling, crisp white linens, and brown faux fur throws. The bathrooms are clean, modern and simple with specially designed Le Labo scented products.

WHERE WE ATE & DRANK

Dean Street Townhouse, located in the heart of Soho, this restaurant sits below and adjacent to the 39 rooms of the Soho House.

Berner’s Tavern, a contemporary British restaurant inside the London EDITION hotel featuring a dramatic, art-filled dining room under towering ornate ceilings. note: we only dined here for breakfast, but the tea service, team members and food were all lovely.

Akoko, a one-star Michelin, fine dining West African restaurant by Aji Akokomi that showcases dishes from across the region - Ghanaian abunuabunu, Senegalese yassa, and Nigerian jollof rice to name a few. Opt to sit in the dining room or at the Chef’s counter to watch the culinary magic.

✈ The staff was incredibly warm and the atmosphere relaxed with a sense of purpose. We loved sitting at the Chef’s counter as two food and beverage professionals!

THINGS TO DO

Explore the historic mews and alleyways leading to beautiful architecture and hidden gems. Enjoy a cocktail, coffee, or bite to eat at a local pub, cafe, or Michelin restaurant on Charlotte Street. Tucked between a few major bustling neighborhoods, Fitzrovia offers a more tranquil village-like feel, while being close to all of the action.
