Canada
Canada, O, Canada
From thriving cities to mountaintops and beaches in between, Canada offers adventure at every turn.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
The best months to visit are June - October. June, July, August bring about warm weather, outdoor festivals and sunshine. While September and October bring milder temperatures and perfect fall days with changing leaves and fewer crowds.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
English and French are the two official languages of Canada. Quebec designates French as its official language and is spoken by over 85% of residents, most being bilingual.
CURRENCY
Canadian Dollar (CAD) $/C$ with all businesses accepting credit cards as well.
PLUGS
Type A (two prong) & B (three prong), same as in the US.
TRANSPORTATION
All major cities and most major towns in Canada have a public transit system with one or more ways to travel (train, bus, subway, tram). Montreal is a very walkable city, but there is an underground metro (subway) as well as extensive bus lines and commuter trains. Ride share is also widely available all over the city.
TRAVEL NOTES
Craving an international trip, but short on time? Chicago to Montreal is less than three hours by plane and scratches the European vacation itch when you can’t quite get across the pond.
