Mexico
BUENAS!
A country whose topography is as diverse as its culture, cuisine and history. Come for the city, the mountains or the beach and you’ll find some of the best food, people and architecture in the world.
BEST TIME TO VISIT
Because Mexico is bordered by two different bodies of water, the weather drastically shifts from one side of the country to the other. So the best time to visit depends on where you want to visit, what you want to do and how busy you want it to be. Generally speaking, if you’re going to Mexico City, plan on visiting in March, April or May. If you’re going to surf, plan on visiting anytime May through October. If you’re going to the southern region of Oaxaca, then plan on visiting during Spring or Fall.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
Spanish is spoken by over 90% of the population, however the mexican goverment also recognized 68 indigenous linguistic groups.
CURRENCY
Mexican Peso (MXN), although in many cities the US Dollar and US credit cards are widely accepted (just check prior to shopping, dining or staying).
PLUGS
Type A (two prong) & B (three prong), same as in the US.
TRANSPORTATION
This depends greatly on what areas in Mexico you are visiting. Mexico City is very congested and spread out, so public transportation along with taxis and ride share are all viable options. In the smaller beach towns, there is no need for any of the above as the towns are very walkable. Larger beach towns such as Cabo offer ride share and taxis as the city is more spread out and less walkable depending on the location of your hotel/resort in relation to the city center.
TRAVEL NOTES
Build in extra travel time when getting around Mexico City as the area is highly congested to the point where the government regulates what citizens/vehicles are allowed to drive on what days of the week to lessen the congestion and pollution.
