London

CHEERS!

One of our favorite European cities to visit.

BEST TIME TO VISIT

All seasons can be beautiful in London, it depends on what type of experience you are looking for. Spring (March to May) has temperatures of 40°F -65°F with lower rainfall in the earlier months. Summer (June to August) has temperatures of 55°F - 75°F with short occasional showers (in the past few years, heatwaves through Europe have increased temperatures to 90°F+). Autumn (September to November) has temperatures of 40°F - 68°F with crisp air and changing leaves. October is statisically one of the wettest months of the year. Winter (December to February) has temperatures of 35°F - 50°F with cool, grey days, short daylight hours and light snowfall. This time of year is frequently damp and overcast (but also hosts all of the Christmas Markets and decor in December, which can be one of the most magical times to visit).

OFFICIAL LANGUAGE

English, with over 300 additional languages spoken across the country. Part of the charm of traveling through England is hearing the 40+ different accents spoken across the country

CURRENCY

Great British Pound (they no longer use the Euro, since Brexit)

PLUGS

Type G, you will need a converter in order to use US appliances (curling/flat iron, hair dryer, phone charger, etc.)

TRANSPORTATION

The underground Tube is a great and safe option to move about the city since traffic can get quite congested in the city center. However, rideshares and taxis are widely available all around the city as well. The city is very walkable within the central neighborhoods and adjacent sights, but it is a sprawling metropolis that can require an assist depending on where your journey takes you.

TRAVEL NOTES

There are six airports that service the London area (Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, London City, Luton, Southend), so depending on where you are flying in or out of, research all options
